Nominal process (in-house) ship time after payment clears: 3-4 business days via USPS First Class, Parcel Post or Priority Mail, Fedex, UPS. You can designate a choice on delivery. We have found the best shipping prices with small parts at minimal shipping cost through USPS Priority Flat-Rate shipping in the U.S.A. USPS First Class is also an option; however, it does not offer tracking capabilitiy. We are not responsible for lost packages shipped via USPS First Class mail; therefore, we highly recommend you choose the type of service that allows tracking. Due to increased postage and materials costs, a small handling fee will be added to all orders.
Outside the US: USPS Priority Mail International when items (small) need to be shipped, sometimes a Flat-rate USPS Box will work fine. At other times, a small Priority Mail International box will be used so that the item in question can be tracked in/to other countries. Remember, although we will always ship in a timely manner this does NOT mean you will receive it as fast as you may wish. Customs in different countries may hold an item at their discretion for many days if not weeks. We have personally experienced items that were supposed to be arrive in Italy or Russia in 12-14 days arrive from 24-29 days, double the stated time via USPS web-site!
Payments: RTC is revising our means of accepting payments including, Postal Money Orders, Bank Drafts, Personal Checks and "other" means. Remember, if paid by personal check or money order the item (s) will NOT be shipped until our bank notifies RTC that the funds are in place and the instrument of payment is correct. At that point the item will be shipped. At times it takes our banking institution up to seven (7) days to clear a payment due to so many fraudulent instruments of payment being circulated. That said, it might take as long as seven days to clear and depending on shipping, another 20-20 days to arrive your destination depending on your country.
Any decks/platters and fully assembled turntables are shipped in a double box or HEAVY duty shipping box with a minimum outside measurement of 21"W x 21"L x 16"-18"D. The is platter packed separately, wood/foam shims placed between the motor carrier plate and main deck skeleton to keep plateform mounts from flexing or bouncing due in part of the weight of the motor. If a tonearm is included it (along with the tonearm rest) is removed from the deck and packed separately.
All materials used for packing are the best we can find for shipping these older re-built turntables and larger parts. Common sense and policy of individual carriers dictate how we prepare units for shipping, RTC exceeds any of their policies, always!
Units are wrapped in high-grade stretch wrap to protect from dust, layers of commercial type bubble-wrap, medium dense foam to protect edges and again wrapped in 5"- 18" wide stretch wrap to encapsulate the unit. The units are surrounded with foam and peanuts with at LEAST 4+" between any part of the unit and the box it is packed in. We strive in every way we know how to assure you that the unit you receive from RTC will arrive at it's destination in the same condition it left our shop (see below for more info on fees).
That said, accidents happen with ALL carriers! ALL units will be insured for their FULL REPLACEMENT value before leaving for ANY destination. There will NOT be a problem with any carrier on paying out if an item is damaged due to the way RTC conforms (and exceeds) their specific packing requirements. A full set of verifiable paper-work concerning each individual unit we re-build with full specs and cost accompanies each unit.
ANY parts sold do NOT include shipping unless otherwise noted! RTC will combine shipping at reduced rate depending on overall packed shipping weight. The only other fee that we charge is for packing an entire working unit the way it is supposed to be packed. This "extra" charge includes double-boxing, bubble-wrap, peanuts, stretch wrap, foam and under-deck bracing the same way these units have been shipped for many years. You will be notified pre-purchase; this will not be a "surprise" or hidden added fee.
